Qualitative Research Methods (DAY 2): Researching Beneath the Surface - ‘Auto/biographical accounts in qualitative research’

THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR THE (OPTIONAL) DAY 2 Qualitative Research Methods: Researching Beneath the Surface - ‘Auto/biographical accounts in qualitative research’ ONLY.

The two-day event aims to explore the use and impact of auto/biography in research. It provides an opportunity to explore qualitative research methods with expert researchers. It comprises of lectures, workshops and a discussion forum for PGR students.

Aimed at

Doctoral Researchers (early stage, mid stage, final stage), Doctoral Researchers staff

Pre-requisites

Attendance on DAY 1 running on April 20th.

Key learning outcomes

By the end of this session, participants will:

  • Understand different ways in which auto/biography can form part of a qualitative research process
  • Understand the challenges of data analysis and re-presentation in auto/biographical research
  • Understand how auto/biography can be used to enhance qualitative research

Health and Safety and general notice

Participants will be viewing presentations projected onto a SMART Board screen. Participants may be required to work in groups. Refreshments may be available at the venue.
