Why is it considered important to consider good ethical practices and apply them in Research?
There are historical reasons why ethics were first considered as important. Our current desire and need to consider and apply good ethical practice in using human participants has many underpinning facets; from protecting the individual to protecting society against harm. Ethical research is almost always research which has been subjected to greater rigour in its design, implementation and interpretation. What is the basis for this, how might we ensure appropriate consideration of ethics in practice and what are the challenges and benefits? These and many more issues will be presented.
