Finding your way through

This session aims to encourage students to start identifying some of the personal and professional challenges, through the creation of a supportive group for students new to Brunel and in many cases new to the UK. The aim is also to ease transition through exploration of colliding worlds of experience.

Aimed at

Researchers (early stage, mid stage, final stage), Research staff

Key learning outcomes

By the end of this session participants will:
  • Feel more encouraged, less isolated and more confident

  • Establish a more realistic perspective on doing a research degree

  • Develop creative solutions to personal or study obstacles

  • Use experience and confidence gained in the group to go on and build a network of friends and support
