Scanning Electron Microscopy (2 day CPD course endorsed by the IOP)

This two-day course, endorsed by the Institute of Physics for continuing professional development (CPD), gives delegates theoretical and practical knowledge of scanning electron microscopy (SEM); through a series of lectures, demonstrations and practicals, explore the theory, practice and application of these powerful analytical tools.

It is a prerequisite for use of Experimental Techniques Centre SEM facilities.

Doctoral Researchers and Doctoral Research staff who are planning to use Brunel Experimental Techniques Centre (ETC) electron microscopy facilities

  • Interaction between electrons and materials
  • Imaging techniques
  • High resolution SEM
  • Energy dispersive X-ray analysis and electron back-scattering diffraction
