MATLAB for Finance & Economics

To introduce the use of Matlab software in Economics and Finance research area.

Aimed at

Any postgraduate research students or research staff who are beginners to MATLAB and have attended the "Introduction to MATLAB" and "Programming Basics" workshops. The Following topics will be covered as the part of this session: - Data handling - Statistics analysis - Numerical methods - Mathematical models - Case studies

Pre-requisites

‚ÄčThe attendancy to the "Introduction to MATLAB" and "Programming Basics" workshops is needed to understand the level of this workshop.

Key learning outcomes

 You will be able to:

  • use Matlab to manipulate the mathematical equations
  • analyse and present  data
  • apply numerical methods to solve mathematical  formulas
  • turn real world problem into Matlab programs and functions
