Finding Technical Standards for your Research

This session, aimed at research students in science and technology based subjects who need to use standards in their research. You will learn what standards are and why they are used, when you might need to use them in your own research, and if you do, how to find them.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Explain what standards are and why are they important (Who produces them, why, what are they used for?)
  • Explain what the consequences are for not using standards
  • Know when to use standards in research
  • Know where to get further help and advice
