RESEARCHER DEVELOPMENT SERIES 2: Intermediate Researcher Development

Becoming a good researcher in any field requires the development of a variety of different skills. This one-day training event provides you with an opportunity to meet other research students from across the university, develop your research ideas, plan the next year of your skills training, think about career development, and focus on the areas you need in order to successfully progress through the mid-stage of your PhD.

Aimed at

Researchers (mid stage 12-24 months or part-time equivalent)


This induction event is for mid stage research students who are within 12-24 months (or part-time equivalent) of their research. Students can attend either series 1, 2 or 3 in a given academic year.
Participants are asked to arrive on time and are expected to attend the whole day.

A conference style one-day development event. Sessions include presentations, group work and discussion.

Health and Safety and general notice

Participants will be viewing presentations projected onto a screen. Participants may be required to move around and work in groups. Lunch and refreshments will be available at the venue.
