The amount of data we handle for a PhD can be overwhelming, whether you’re dealing with documents, observations, interviews, focus groups, surveys or large secondary data sets. This session will cover issues around data identification and collection. Ian will explain how his project developed, through different forms of data collection. We will also provide a brief introduction to Nvivo which is a software package used to manage and analyse rich, text-based qualitative data, so we would like you to download a copy of nvivo onto your device in advance of the session.
