RESEARCHER DEVELOPMENT SERIES 3: Advanced Researcher Development
Becoming a good researcher in any field requires the development of a variety of different skills. This one-day event provides you with an opportunity to meet other research students from across the university, develop your research ideas, make the most of opportunities for skills training, think about your career options, and focus on the areas you need in order to successfully move towards the completion of your PhD.
Researchers (final stage over 24 months or part-time equivalent)
This training event is for final stage research students who have completed 24 months or more (or part-time equivalent) of their research. Students can attend either series 1, 2 or 3 in a given academic year.
Participants are asked to arrive on time and are expected to attend the whole day.

By the end of this event participants will have an understanding of:
- Thesis submission
- Preparing for the VIVA
- Public engagement
- Social media and developing an academic profile
Series of talks and workshops by different speakers

A conference style one-day development event. Sessions include presentations, group work and discussion.

Health and Safety and general notice
Participants will be viewing presentations projected onto a screen. Participants may be required to move around and work in groups. Lunch and refreshments will be available at the venue.
