Scanning Electron Microscopy (2 day CPD course endorsed by the IOP)
This two-day course, endorsed by the Institute of Physics for continuing professional development (CPD), gives delegates theoretical and practical knowledge of scanning electron microscopy (SEM); through a series of lectures, demonstrations and practicals, explore the theory, practice and application of these powerful analytical tools.
It is a prerequisite for use of Experimental Techniques Centre SEM facilities.
Aimed atDoctoral Researchers and Doctoral Research staff who are planning to use Brunel Experimental Techniques Centre (ETC) electron microscopy facilities
Key learning outcomes
By the end of this CPD course, you will have gained knowledge in the following:
- Interaction between electrons and materials
- Imaging techniques
- High resolution SEM
- Energy dispersive X-ray analysis and electron back-scattering diffraction
- Hands-on SEM use
